Simple habits help natural materials age with you. Start with the material and the finish, then use the gentlest treatment that works.
Oak and walnut
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Wipe spills promptly and dry the surface. Use coasters and felt pads; keep furniture away from direct heat and prolonged strong sunlight. Never flood joints or use a steam cleaner.
Linen and woven upholstery
Vacuum gently with an upholstery attachment. Rotate loose cushions to distribute wear. Blot marks without rubbing and ask a specialist to assess stubborn stains. Covers are not machine-washable unless the product label expressly says so.
Metal and lighting
Switch off and disconnect before cleaning. Use a dry soft cloth and avoid abrasive polish. Electrical installation must be completed by a qualified person where required; follow local rules and the supplied fitting instructions.
Stoneware and mirrors
Hand-clean decorative stoneware with mild soap and dry fully. Protect furniture from condensation. Spray glass cleaner onto a cloth rather than directly onto a mirror, keeping moisture away from the wood edge.
