A softly glazed ceramic object is useful, tactile and comfortable beside natural timber.
A material to live with
Stoneware begins with clay and a fired glaze. Small variations in tone, speckling and shape are part of the object rather than a promise that every piece will look identical. A quiet shape gives these details room to be seen.
Look at it in your room
Bring the material into the light where it will be used. Morning and evening light can make a finish feel quite different, and the colours nearby will affect how warm or cool it appears. Choose a combination that feels comfortable over time rather than relying only on a small screen image.
Simple care
Wash by hand with mild soap and dry completely. Use a protective pad on sensitive furniture surfaces, especially beneath a vessel containing water.
